Do I have to write and file everything myself?

USCIS PM-602-0199 emphasizes that adjustment of status is discretionary relief rather than an automatic entitlement. It does not eliminate I-485 for NIW or EB1A applicants, but applicants should prepare clean status history, I-94 records, work authorization history, travel records, and positive equities. Can EB-2 China applicants file I-485 in June 2026?

It depends on the priority date. The June 2026 Visa Bulletin lists EB-2 China at September 1, 2021 for Final Action Dates and January 1, 2022 for Dates for Filing. USCIS uses Final Action Dates for employment-based adjustment filings that month, so applicants generally cannot rely on the later Dates for Filing chart.

Should I use Chart A or Chart B for adjustment filing?

Check both the Department of State Visa Bulletin and the USCIS Adjustment of Status Filing Charts page for the month. USCIS decides whether employment-based applicants may use Final Action Dates or Dates for Filing. June 2026 uses Final Action Dates.

Do not rely on the older RFE strategy. USCIS now requires applicants who must submit Form I-693 or a partial I-693 to include it with Form I-485, otherwise the I-485 may be rejected.
